Austria does not have distant repeaters. Semaphore style mimic signals are used instead.
-
Therefore, if a distant has any other colour than green, it is indicating a speed reduction or stop ahead:
-
Two horizontal yellows = expect stop
-
Two diagonal greens rising to the right with yellow on left = expect 60km/h
-
Two horizontal yellows with green on left below = expect 40km/h
-
Single green light on the main signal = max line speed or speed indicated by numeral above
-
Green above green = clear at 60 km/h
-
Green above yellow = clear at 40km/h
-
Flashing small red suplementary signal light = you can proceed on sight
-
Flashing small green = departure order (at a station)
